Meet your doula
Aloha! My name is Lauren Naone and I am a mother of two, nature lover and curious explorer of the unknown. I‘m super passionate about birthwork, and after being busy starting my family the last 4 years, I am so exited to dive into this chapter of my life as a Doula. I have completed a Dona International approved Birth Doula workshop as well as Intro to Childbirth for Doulas and Breastfeeding for Doulas. I’m currently working towards my certification with Dona International.
I moved to Kailua, HI from Portland, OR in 2018 to reconnect with my Hawaiian roots and hoping to find some purpose in my life. Shortly after moving here I met my partner and quickly got pregnant with my son. At that time I knew nothing about giving birth and was terrified of labor. Although my son was born healthy, my labor experience was traumatic, which ultimately led me to wanting to know everything there was to know about birth. With that I learned not only the benefits of having a doula but also felt called to become one myself. My second birth I hired a doula and was way more informed of my options. My daughters birth was such a healing experience for me and my partner. Whether it’s your 1st or 5th birth I would be so honored to be your doula and empower you to have the most positive birth experience.

Benefits of having a doula
Continuous support during labor has clinically meaningful benefits for women and infants and no known harm. All women should have support throughout labor and birth (Hodnett and colleagues 2011).
Studies have shown that effects of continuous labor support were strongest when the person was neither a member of the hospital staff nor a person in the woman’s social network.
